Monteleone’s sixth and final collection of short fiction. 500 pages of stories published since 2000 by the multi award-winning author.
With an Introduction by Robert McCammon
From the Foreword by TFM:
After publishing five previous collections of my short fiction, I can definitively say this one will be my last. For several reasons. One, I don’t write many short stories these days mainly because I’m usually working on longer projects such as novels, anthologies, and several non-fiction collections. Two, because that deep dark Well of Ideas from which notions for short stories used to overflow with regularity is no longer so deep or so dark. Seems like when I get a worthy idea for a story now, I tend to think of it terms of something longer like a novel or a screenplay. And three, after more than fifty years in publishing, I am more than ever convinced if one can write a good short story, he or she can write anything. Writing effective short fiction is the most demanding task I’ve ever demanded of myself.
